Mysterios củ ấu

Series of 2 paintings (Section 2 - Art 28-33)

The gaze lingers in the aquatic crops of củ ấu, a mysterious looking fruit, bright red when harvested but turning black later and resembling the head of a buffalo.
Buffalo horned larva (grown in Phu Tho). Although it is called "tuber", this is actually "fruit" because it grows under water until it grows old, then falls off and buries in the mud, so it is called "tuber". Pipe tubers are poisonous, but through the skillful processing experience of the people of the
Northwest, they have become the ingredients of delicious and healthy porridge.
